10/10 This was the best restaurant of our trip by far. The service was excellent: the staff was friendly and helpful, and the menu was conveniently in both English and Spanish. The food was outstanding: we got the fried wontons as an appetizer, and they were perfectly crispy, with the honey wasabi mayo as an unexpectedly perfect pairing. I think we both could have filled up on those alone. I got the salmon as my main course and the Thai curry sauce was the perfect blend of flavors, it was the exact right level of spicy for me where I could feel the kick but it wasn't overwhelming. The mashed potatoes were smooth and delicious as well. My boyfriend got the steak, which although I did not try, looked amazing and my boyfriend loved. For dessert, I had the homemade chocolate tarte. It was smooth and creamy and refreshing after the meal. In addition to tasting fantastic, everything was presented beautifully as well. We would highly recommend visiting this restaurant on your next trip to Merida.

This was a nice, relaxed spot for a quick lunch. The owner has lived/traveled all over, and though maybe a bit eccentric for some, provides a really warm welcome. Glad we stopped in!

We ate a couple of times here during our week in Merida and really enjoyed both visits. The staff is very friendly with attentive service especially from the bartender Erik. Drinks are well made, food is delicious and well priced for the quality. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful dinner, with the only disappointment being that we hadn't discovered this local gem sooner! The dishes were all uniquely delicious, and the wait staff professional while still being friendly. Highly recommend you enjoying a meal here, or at least drinks at the bar.

We enjoyed our dinner out at Lou’s. A friendly atmosphere with patrons that know each other and invite others to join in the conversation. Rudy the bartender was excellent and offered suggestions for drinks we had never tried. My husband loved the sea bass, my eggplant lasagna was great, the zucchini chips, perfect. We shared the Carlota dessert to complete a fun night out.

Our family was traveling from Mexico City to Merida on vacation and Taste at Lou's was close to our hotel and had great reviews. We showed up around 9pm and were blown away by the friendly staff and family vibe. Bruce was super welcoming and told us all about the menu. I had the Mojillo pork shank and it was immense. Unique flavor and well cooked. Here are some other pics of the fantastic dishes we ordered. The cocktails were excellent and well balanced. I recommend the Mojito and the margaritas were just the way I like them.

First time here for dinner and definitely not the last. Friendly service. Excellent food with generous portions. Our group of 4 enjoyed the fish and chips, hunter schnitzel and the evening special of pork side ribs with mashed potatoes.

We opted for the “chef’s table” and had one of the best 5 course meals of our lives. Not only was every course delicious, but the portions were generous, and the price reasonable. Bruce accommodated all of my intolerances (and I have a lot!) and preferences while also suggesting a lovely wine to pair with our meal. The service couldn’t have been friendlier and would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Merida. I had the “marry me” tomato bisque, Camembert, pears with the homemade cheese, ostrich “steak”, and chocolate and praline dessert - so unique and delectable!
